About 10 years ago, the country of Colombia ran a marketing campaign to promote tourism called Colombia es Pasion. It captured perfectly the spirit of Colombia, a country eager to overcome their dark past and show the world their passion, tenacity, and beautiful country. The Mi Patria Jersey pays tribute to our Colombian heritage and serves as a way for us to give back to the country that we love so much.
For nearly nine million people in rural Colombia, walking is the primary mode of transportation. Students, health workers and entrepreneurs travel hours to reach schools, patients and markets. Distance is a barrier to progress, especially for women and girls. Only 17% of rural students attend secondary school and COVID-19 has only increased the urgent need for safe and reliable transportation. That’s why World Bicycle Relief is partnering with local organizations and companies to mobilize Colombian children and their families with life-changing Buffalo Bicycles.
