The Fort Worth event will donate proceeds to FitWorth. Righteous Foods, BaylorScott&White, and UNT Health Science Center will serve as presenting partners of the event.
Gran Fondo Hincapie is pleased to announce that proceeds from the Fort Worth ride occurring March 30, 2019, will benefit FitWorth, a family-focused initiative tasked with promoting healthy and active lifestyles through an individualized and sustainable approach to community wellness. FitWorth specializes in community-wide health education and hosts annual events like the Mayor’s Challenge and the Tour de Fort Worth.
Says Mayor Betsy Price, “It’s a natural fit for FitWorth to be selected as Gran Fondo Hincapie-Fort Worth’s community partner. FitWorth is driving positive change and leading the way in making Fort Worth a more active and healthy city. Fort Worth is one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation, so we’re excited to welcome the Gran Fondo.”
Adds Noah Drew, director of FitWorth, “We are very excited to have been named Gran Fondo Hincapie-Fort Worth’s community partner. FitWorth works to help families get out and be active, and cycling is the perfect lifelong activity for everyone. We know that our community is going to love participating in this event.”
Assisting Gran Fondo Hincapie-Fort Worth in putting on the event are local companies Righteous Foods, BaylorScott&White, and UNT Health Science Center.
“We’re extremely thankful to these local businesses for supporting the event,” says Rich Hincapie, CEO of the Hincapie companies. “The city of Fort Worth has really embraced us, so giving back through FitWorth is our way of returning the favor.”
“This ride is going to be big,” says retired professional cyclist George Hincapie. “To see the community coming together for this event is really exciting. We’re looking forward to the inaugural ride!”
