#RideHincapie Ambassador Bobby Parker spread the cycling love this holiday season. A local corps officer of the Salvation Army in Lubbock, Texas, Parker made it his mission to provide bicycles to the underprivileged in his community.
Parker solicited a local car dealership to donate funds for purchasing 150 bicycles. He then called together members of area cycling clubs to assemble all the bikes. Members of the West Texas Cycling Association, Lubbock Bicycle Club, Chaparral Racing Team, and local bicycle shops all participated.
“It was pretty awesome to see everyone come together for a common goal around a cause everyone supports,” says Parker. “I’ve been very passionate about engaging our local cycling clubs to get involved in the community. Next year I hope to put together even more bikes and have a helmet drive, as well.”
A member of our #HincapieFamily, Parker serves as an inspiration to all of us. This holiday season, let’s all take a moment to remind others of the joy that a bicycle brings.
