Every Climb, Every Mile, No Shortcuts
Gran is the real deal, the course built for riders who want the full Blue Ridge experience and aren't afraid of the climbing that comes with it. You'll take on Skyuka Mountain in the first thirty miles, a long grind that tops out near 2,900 feet, then work through rolling terrain past Lake Adger before Green River Cove delivers the second major summit of the day. There's a short gravel stretch through the Cove, nothing that requires a gravel bike, just a reminder you're deep in the mountains now. Four rest stops keep you fueled along the way, and the final push up Chinquapin Road closes things out with one more climb before the finish. This is our longest, hardest route, and it earns that reputation honestly.
*Please note: Carbon clincher rim brakes for the Gran and Grandito courses are not permitted due to the steep Skyuka decent.
Two Tough Climbs, One Great Ride
Grandito is where the climbing gets serious. Skyuka Mountain hits first, a long grind up to nearly 2,900 feet with the kind of views that make you forget your legs are burning, and just when you've recovered, Holbert Cove shows up to test you all over again. The road winds through the Blue Ridge foothills and the Saluda highlands, past lake country and deep into the mountains, with rest stops timed to catch you right when you need them. This is the course for riders who want Gran's toughest climbs without Gran's mileage, and by the finish at Chinquapin Road, you'll know exactly why we call it Grandito.

Shorter on Miles, Long on Climbing
Medio isn't the longest course on the schedule, but it packs a real climb into that distance. You'll roll out through the Blue Ridge foothills and past Lake Lanier before the road turns upward on Holbert Cove, a two-mile climb that gains over 550 feet and serves as this course's KOM. From there it's a drop back through the Saluda highlands, with rest stops waiting at Nature's Storehouse in Tryon and Saluda Elementary before you head home on Old Highway 25 and Chinquapin Road. If you want a shorter day that still makes you earn it, this is the one.

Piccolo is the ride for anyone who wants to be part of Gran Fondo Hincapie without taking on a mountain to do it. This one stays close to home, rolling through the countryside around Travelers Rest, and while there are a few hills to keep things interesting, nothing here should scare off a first-timer or a rider bringing the family along. No KOM to chase, no big climb waiting around the corner, just a fun morning on the bike that still gets you a finish line, a medal, and full bragging rights at the expo afterward.
Overall awards for the Piccolo ride will be given to the top three 14 and Under for Male and Female.
