Earlier this summer, we were thrilled to watch long time Hincapie customer David Wenger cross the finish line first at the Elite National Criterium Championships in Augusta. It was a brutally hot day, with the best amateur crit racers in the country in the field. Some of the racers were former pros, including a former National Pro Criterium Champion. With the high heat and the stacked field, over half the riders cried “uncle” and pulled out of the race before the finish. David’s win was an amazing achievement and inspiration to all of us who juggle, family, work, community and cycling.

Of course a champion needs to look like a champion, so we had to send David a stars and stripes kit that matched his Super Squadra team design. David was kind enough to send us some shots of him in his new threads. He looks great as Captain America in the red, white and blue. If you happen to see these colors fly by you on the road, we dare you to try and hold David’s wheel.
