A cycling club that includes George Hincapie, Christian Vande Velde, and Bobby Julich? Yea, this isn’t your local bike shop club.

Hincapie Cycling Society (HCS) is the brainchild of George and Rich Hincapie, inspired from the guidance they received from their own hometown cycling club growing up in Queens. “The guys on that club taught us the fundamentals of racing,” says Rich. “More importantly, they guided us to be good teammates and people. They felt a personal responsibility for us.”

It is Rich and George’s hope that HCS will provide the same sort of guidance and inspiration to new and experienced cyclists that they received growing up. But they don’t want to limit the club to their current hometown area of Greenville, South Carolina.

Instead, they aim to create a virtual cycling club that will be the hub for cyclists of all ages and skill levels—a place where a cyclist could ask advice, join an online challenge (the platform integrates with Strava), and find inspiration.

A key component of HCS is the group of Hincapie Sportswear Ambassadors, located all across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America. These Ambassadors will lead local rides and facilitate connections within the Society.

Memberships for days…

The HCS Standard Membership is free. You only need to sign up online, and then you’ll have access to the entire Hincapie cycling community. There you’ll be able to connect with other HCS members, get tips from the pros, and compete in HCS-hosted online cycling challenges.
